Online Workshop Series #27: How to Accompany Slow Tunes

 —  —

ZOOM

When participating in a session, it is common to have the odd slow tune played here and there and it is important to know how to accompany it, or if you even should provide accompaniment. While some slower tunes such as Marches, Waltzes and Mazurkas have a fairly rhythmic structure, other types of tunes such as Airs (also commonly called Slow Airs) can be a little more confusing because of their often-freer form rhythmic structure. We will learn how to identify which tunes should be played (or not) and how to provide a tasteful accompaniment.
