Playing in a jam session is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences you can have playing the bodhran. Not to mention a wonderful opportunity to put your skills to the test and try out some of those fun new tricks you’ve learned. However, it is important to know the proper etiquette when joining in and make sure you’re providing a pleasant and complementary accompaniment. In this workshop we will discuss proper session etiquette as well as some helpful tips/pointers such as: rhythmic ideas, when to play and not to play, communication and identification of visual cues and tipper selection.
